A Comparative Analysis on Poetry of Yahya Kemal Beyatli’s “Gece” and Ahmet Hamdi Tanpinar’s “Gül”
In this study, comparative text analysis has been tried. “Gül” poems of Tanpınar and “Gece” poems of Beyatlı were chosen as application texts. Our aim is to discuss the existence and quality of relations such as similarity, difference and partnership through the two texts which are the subject of application in terms of content, structure and style. The reason we choose these poems is because the desire of “reaching infinity, eternity” is felt in both of the poems. In the introduction part of the study, comparative literature science is briefly mentioned. The second part, the poems of “Gül” and “Gece” are analyzed on their own context. The comparison of the poems mentioned in the third section is examined under the subtitles “similarities”, “differences” and “partnerships”. As a result, it was seen that Tanpınar and Yahya Kemal deal with different aspects of poetry in terms of composition and ways of feeling in the poetry of “eternity”.
