The Ottoman Art Environment From The 17th to The 20th Century
XVIII -XIX. Century represents a time period in which social, economic, political, cultural and technical developments take place in a universal sense. This change has spread to many societies in the world and has led to a radical change in the structure of living and governed societies depending on tradition. Factors such as the thirty years of wars (1618-1648), the social reflections of the Renaissance period, and the French revolution in Europe have formed the most important issues that make the social and cultural life of the West clear. The Ottoman state, which found a place for itself in this timeline, could not turn its back on the changes that made a sound all over the world and turned to the west for the improvements to be made in the military order. In this study, the phases of the military westernization movement of the Ottoman state and the reflections of this movement on the Ottoman culture and art until the declaration of the republic will be examined.
