Abstract


Statistical Data Analysis of Traditional Erzurum Houses with General Characteristics
Traditional houses constitute an important part of the Anatolian art of construction. Traditional houses in Anatolia are classified into different regions. Traditional Erzurum houses constitute a significant part of this classification. Traditional Erzurum houses differ from the other regional houses in terms of their plan of tandir. Tandırevi, which is the determinant of all the other sizes of the traditional Erzurum house, is an original building element with its multi-functional space structure and architecture. 180 of 224 traditional houses in Erzurum city center were built on a plan. Mostly two-storey Erzurum houses; The ground floor, including the tandırevi, is designed as a winter floor and the upper floor with bay window. Erzurum houses, which are planned in accordance with the criteria of Haremlik-Selamlık division, are built on an average area of 290 m². 140 m² of this area is the garden section which includes the barn and the vine. The ground floor of the house is 155 m² and the top floor is 110 m². The traditional Erzurum house has an average floor height of 3.80 m and an upper floor height of 3.50 m. Erzurum houses represent an exceptional example of the Anatolian Turkish house with its tandirreves, projected façades, knurled doors, golden-proportioned windows and flat roofs.
