Benefiting from the Homonymy and Polysemy in Creating Functional Texts
Until the 20th century, research studies on language and literature were often directed to religious and literary texts. Particularly after the second half of the 20th century, it was observed that the texts, which can be accepted as “non-literary” concerning linguistics and literature, in other words, the functional texts were also worth examining. Thanks to the mass media, the opportunity has increased to present these texts daily and momentarily to the masses in both national and international contexts in oral and written versions. For the large masses, who had to live a momentary life as a requirement of our age, the presentation properties of these functional texts are important not only for their content but also for their simplicity, clarity, attractiveness, briefness, aliveness, and being reader friendly. Therefore, it is observed that the presentation properties of poetry are frequently used in creation of the functional texts.
