Abstract


Abaqa Khan Period (1265-1282) Foreign Policy of Ilkhanids (Golden Horde, Chagatai and Mamluk Examples)
Ilkhanids is a satellite state of Mongols which founded in Iran by Hülagu Khan, grandson of Cenghiz Khan. The state that takes the name from Hülagu's title played an important role especially in Asia Minor in 13th century. It ruled in Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan and Anatolia and was considered one of the most powerful states of its time in the region. Ilkhanids, have left important political, military and cultural traces in this region. The geography in which it was founded led them continuously to struggle for dominance with the Golden Horde, Chagatai and Mamluks. In this study, the external relations of Ilkhanids, particularly Abaka Khan Era were discussed.In our study, we will discuss Abaka Han's process of ascending. Then, we will evaluate the external relations with the above mentioned states within the framework of the main sources of the period.
