Abstract


Military Operations in The Occupation and Liberation of Bursa and Its Vicinity
Occupation of Bursa, came true on 8 July 1920 and this event met with sadness from all country and TBMM which newly established. Indeed TBMM had a break it’s sessions and parliamentary rostrum was covered by ‘puşude-i siyah’ which is a specific veil until the salvation. This veil stayed Bursa up to 10 September 1922. Until the liberation process and all military operations that occur in region of Bursa was conducted by at Deli Halid Pasha’s command, at division level and Command of Kocaeli Group which connect with the General Staff. After the Battle of Dumlupınar passed successfully, command associations were formed 3.Corps which is at Şükrü Naili Pasha’s command was shipped with prevention of occupation of Bursa region. The orders of the Turkish army entering Izmir and the Kocaeli group coming together, they won the whole region independence as a result of successful operations. In this way, the Marmara Region has been liberated like Atatürk said that ‘Armies your first goal is the mediterranean forward.’ Thus, the success of the liberation struggle on all fronts was reinforced.
