Abstract


The Effect of The Seventh Grade Lesson Turkish National Culture Theme on Student Success with The Songs of Barış Manço
İn this research, the effect of the songs of Barış Manço, which is used as an audiovisual teaching material in the seventh grade Turkish language course on national culture, was examined. The exploratory pattern from mixed method patterns is used in research; semi-experimental design with pre-test-post-test control group was used from experimental research designs. The study groups of research are consisted of 51 students who were on seventh grade of a secondary school in Erzurum province, which was affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. In the research, as a data collection tool, document ınspection techniques data, personal information form for the purpose of determining the information belonging to the students national cultural theme understanding/listening/explaining achievement tests is used. In the analysis of personal information form descriptive statistics processing, ın the analysis of the quantitative data obtained from the application, parametric (t-test and variance analysis) and nonparametric tests (u test and wilcoxon test), which are were used according to homogeneity test results. İn the experimental and control group, both on the positive success is effective but in the experimental group of traditional teaching program significantly more effective than of success according to the conclusion has been reached. As teaching material, Barış Manço songs can be used systematically and regularly with the method of "music assisted teaching".
