Abstract
Some Turkish-Mongolian Terms Used in Mongolıan Period Persian Poetry (Literature)
It can be said that with Cenghiz Khan’s fronting to Khorosan and Persian geography, Mongolian domination started in this region. Undoubtedly, Mongols’ coming to Asia Minor did not only have military consequences. Mongolian domination between 1231-1339 left deep influences on especially Persian geography. These influences can be possibly seen in the time’s literature. This time of occupation also had economic, social and cultural influences. Especially Mongolian domination’s influences in cultural fields can be seen in the period’s Persian poems.
The aim of this study is to clearly examine how Mongolian and Turkish terms used in military and governmental fields influenced literature. In this context, we will try to examine those terms with examples from Sadî-yi Şîrâzî, Hâfız-ı Şîrâzî, Kirmânî and Pûr Beh’ works.
