Abstract


Barâk Hâjib and Establishment Process of the Kutlughans (Kirmân of Karahitays)
Kutlugkhans founded by Barak Hajib in Kirman in 619 (1222-23) which state in the southwest of Deşt-i Lut Desert in İran, was a local dynasty. Founder of the dynasty, Barak was the hacib oh Gürhan, the monarch of Karahıtay. He entered the service of Khwarazm Alaaddin Muhammed, to whom he was previously sent as ambassador after the elimination of Karahıtays. After Alaaddin Muhammed’a son Giyaseddin Pirşah settled in Irak after his father’s death, Barak was appointed as the governor of Isfahan, Standing among his favorite amirs (1221). Barak, famous with the title of Kutlug Khan, dominatel Kirman next year and founded the dynasty known as Kutlug Khans.
