Abstract


SEVENTEENTH CENTURY DIVAN POET AHMEDÎ AND HIS WORKS
Ahmedî is one of seventeenth century poets. He is known as İshak’s Hodha Ahmed Efendi and appealed Ahmed Efendi. He initiated to famous mystic Niyazî-i Mısrî and became one of his caliphs. He teaches in different madrasa. He wrote many books in Arabic, Persian and Turkish about different science such as philosophy, astronomy, logic and hermeneutic. He used Ahmedî pseudonym in Turkish and Hace in Persian works. He showed his real ability in literature with his mesnevi Vahdetnâme. In this study we gave information about the poet’s literary character and his works which can be confirmed by us.
