Abstract
WRITING ADVENTURE OF HALIT ZIYA FROM HIS OWN WRITING
Among many writers, writing starts at an early age and becomes an irrevocable passion. As the fruit of this passion, the work produced contains traces of the writer’s inner world, perspectives on life, social conditions and the time period the author was in. In later stages of their lives, many writers couldn’t refrain from expressing the importance of the imagery and protagonists in their short stories and novels. This type of information is mostly seen in memories of diaries, interviews and private letters.
In this study, Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil’s interview in Resimli Ay Magazine entitled “How I wrote My Work” is written in the Latin alphabet and his opinions on the act of writing and the adventure of the writing, especially in his early youth will be examined. In addition, the writer’s opinions on the simplification of the language and orthography through the interviews conducted on different occasions along with the necessity of purification will be examined with examples.
As a result, the study will reveal that Halit Ziya approached his early work, which was a direct influence of the excitement taking place in his life, with a critical point of view.
